After going through a lot of
planning by industry experts, the Dholera Smart City has stepped into
its implementation stage. Things shall now be seen moving in this city and development
is expected to be at a good pace here onwards.
The city has remained in focus
ever since it has been declared as the first smart city to be developed in
India. More emphasis has been received from the government since Dholera has
been a dream city envisioned by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Modi.
An EPC contract has been awarded
to L&T for construction of roads and services early this year. Rs. 1700 crores
(Appx) were sanctioned by the central government towards this project. The ABCD
complex has also entered construction stage. Cube Constructions Ltd. shall be
responsible to ensure seamless completion of the same within set timelines.Trunk
infrastructure work on 22.5 square kilometers activation area is also in
progress. Rs. 2784 crores had been sanctioned for the same in the mid of the
last year. This is expected to act as a catalyst towards development of Dholera smart city and attract
investments from alternate source in the city.
Dholera
SIR had become a prominent name in early 2015. Being close to an
anonymouscity for a long time, the sudden fame was a major boost to the economy
of the city. Suddenly, the ‘not so wealthy’ residents of Dholerawere presented
with ample employment opportunities and were exposed to positive economic
environment which could be used to turn their fortunes. Citizens of Dholera
primarily earned their income through farming, most of which was done on saline
land. However, with the city being declared as a smart city, a plethora of
income earning opportunities knocked on their door. The real estate sector also
saw a sudden boom and various reputed developers were seen acquiring vast lands
in Dholera smart city to develop
massive residential townships and other projects.
Besides attracting real estate
developers, the city has also been successful in drawing investors across
various key industries. An instrumental factor that shall boost up
manufacturing and industrial set ups in Dholera is its being a special
investment node on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial
corridor. This corridor shall be the manufacturing backbone of India in times
to come and go a long way in bringing the economic ranking of India closer to
its targeted figure. Dholera is envisaged to be the global trading and
manufacturing hub in due course of time and is therefore expected to hold
significant position in Indian economy.
